Swimming lessons are one-on-one, approximately 10 minutes in length, everyday Monday-Thursday, 4-6 weeks.
Each swim lesson builds upon the previous day's lesson, so there is measurable progress each week.
Each child passes a clothing test to ensure they can complete skills fully clothed.
-
Children are either independently floating and/or able to swim-float-swim by the end of 6 weeks. If the child will need additional time we will discuss this with you.
***If you have a child with special needs, it is likely that more time than what is mentioned above will be needed to complete the program. You would need to speak with us about this matter before choosing a class.

Parents do not get in the water during the initial 6 week program until the end. During the last week of lessons, parents are invited in so we can show you how to practice when you’re swimming with your child outside of swim lessons.
-
Parents are encouraged to cheer their child on, use positive language around their child, and support their child after lessons.
It is encouraged for parents to get to lessons early to ease the child into a routine and to stay after lesson and enjoy a snack. This seems to calm kids down with positive reinforcement, plus they get to see other kids swim too!

The short answer is No. For further explanation, check out this article from Nurse Practioner, Danielle McBurnette.

We encourage you to plan your vacation around swim lessons. The consistency of regular attendance will set your child up for success. We understand that life is busy and things come up, so missing a lesson here or there is ok.
Please note: there are no refunds for missed classes and your child’s progress is determined by their attendance.

Swimming and floating are motor skills that can be taught to a baby through repetitive exercises, along with gentle verbal encouragement. We show the babies what we want them to do, and over a short period of time, they learn the skills necessary to survive.
Be assured, we do not throw children into the water. We use a variety of methods, combining the best ideas from swim schools and infant/toddler programs throughout the world.
Our goal is to make learning fun so that your child will love his water experience.
-
We will cancel lessons if lightning is nearby or if the wind is extreme to the point of being dangerous. Please note that the weather can be quite different in your location than ours. We do not cancel lessons because it’s raining.
If we have to cancel your lesson due to lightning, we will make up that lesson another day that week.
If you choose to cancel your lesson while we are still working, you are forfeiting your lesson for that day and we cannot guarantee a makeup slot will be available.
-
Refunds are not available. If you choose to discontinue lessons mid-session, the remaining balance will still be required if you are on a payment plan.
-
There is no a cancellation fee because all lessons are prepaid. Please note that missing lessons in this program can be detrimental to your child’s learning experience and no refunds will be given for missed lessons.

POLICIES
01 | Lesson Format
Lessons are held four days a week (Monday-Thursday).
Each lesson is 10 minutes long.
The instructor may shorten or decline a lesson if they feel the student’s health is being compromised.
Programs run in 4-6 week sessions, depending on the student’s age and progress.
Upon completing a 6-week private session (Guppy or Otter classes), students may enroll in weekly group classes (30 minutes, 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio).
Survival Swim Tune-Ups:
Only held 2x a summer: July 14-July 18 & September 1-September 5
Lessons are held five days a week (Monday-Friday)
Each lesson is 10-20 minutes long
Survival Swim Tune-Ups are a critical part of maintaining and reinforcing your child’s life-saving swim skills. Just like any learned skill, swimming and floating require regular practice—especially for young children whose bodies are constantly growing and changing.
If children go months without practicing their swim-float-swim technique, their muscle memory and confidence in the water can fade. As they grow, their center of gravity shifts, meaning they must learn to adjust their float and swimming technique to match their changing bodies. This is why regular refreshers are essential to keep them confident, capable, and water-safe.

03 | Cancellation Policies
Private Lessons (Guppy, Otter):
Tuition is non-refundable once lessons have started, even if lessons are discontinued mid-session.
